Milwaukee 2897-22 Review

There are different types of drill sets out there, and I have used some. However, there is the tendency to want to pick some over the others, and that decision most likely has to do with the performance of the equipment. I got my hands on the Milwaukee 2897-22 M18 Fuel 2-Tool Combo Kit, and I must say I am impressed with its performance so far.

Power

Before opting for this, I was searching for something that was really powerful, fast, and efficient, and the Milwaukee 2897-22 M18 Fuel Hammer Drill just fit the description.  It is one of the most powerful drills ever made, and the cordless 18-volt drill comes packed with a brushless motor (Powerstate™) which has the capacity of producing about 1,200 in-lbs of the rotational force (torque) and 2,000 rpm, which is responsible for a drilling speed that is really fast, even when there is load.  Using the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hammer Drill, you’re assured of power and speed which are both very important factors to consider when going for a drill set.  Furthermore, this M18 Fuel Hammer Drill asides from being powerful are also very compact and measure 7.75 inches in length.  The drill comes with a locking chuck that is all-metal, which gives it a very good grip.

It has a hammer drill driver that can be used to create bigger holes. The hammer drill driver has a 2-speed transmission which makes it easier to conveniently drill holes. The first transmission makes it easy for the bigger holes to curve. The first speed provides up to 550 RPM, while the second speed provides up to 2000 RPM. It also has a precision screw mode that gives it a better precision.

Another amazing feature of this kit is the inclusion of the unique M18 Fuel ¼” Hex Impact Driver, which is as powerful as the hammer drill and is a beautiful combo to have.  The impact driver comes with a wonderful fastening torque of 1800 in-lbs. Also, it proved to be very easy and fast to screw, and I noticed I had so much control over the speed and power, which was due to the availability of a Drive Control that had 4 modes.

Customer/User impression

One loyal customer who has been with the Milwaukee tool brand for more than 30 years is of the opinion that over time. The brand has done nothing but gets better.  He is even more impressed with the Milwaukee 2897-22 M18 Fuel 2-tool Combo Kit more than previous sets and believes they are much better than the old ones, and he is also very comfortable with the price of the set.

Another customer made a switch from another brand to the Milwaukee 2897-22 kit and has been filled with joy, however, an observation was raised about the position of the LED light which I daresay is an excellent wonderful, as I have noticed the position of the LED light often casts a shadow just above the spot where I’m drilling. The customer also said using the chuck lock required two hands, but other than those two observations, he was completely pleased with the set.
